MetaTrader 4 Tip 9: How to Add Sound Alerts

On the last tip, we saw how to use the Forex Indicator MACD for Divergences on MT4. Today, we’ll see a tool that can be quite useful to get immediate information: sound alerts.

These alerts notify us when a pair reaches a certain price so that we may execute a planned action. Many traders set these alerts for when a pair reaches a certain low or high point that they’re looking for.

First, we’re going to navigate to the ‘Toolbox‘ menu on the lower part of our screen.

Once there, we can see there is an ‘ALERTS‘ tab. After selecting it, we can add a new alert by right-clicking on the empty space.

Right Click on the toolbar and select ‘Create’. Then you can start editing a new alert.

The Alert parameters are:

Action: You can choose to receive alerts from: sound, file, mail, and notification actions

Symbol: the pair

Condition: if the Bid or Ask price will be bigger than the value.

Value: Value of the price.

Timeout: number of seconds between each alert.

Maximum iterations: the number of times the alert will sound.
